Travel Diary: Nashville

This year for Spring Break a couple friends and I took a week and a half long trip to two completely different cities, Nashville and Miami. It might seem kind of weird, but my two roommates had never been to Nashville and have always wanted to go, so that's why we decided to head to Nashville for a weekend. We then flew from Nashville to Miami to get a little slice of something tropical. It was the perfect trip for us because it was crazy fun, but also extremely relaxing! I split this post into two parts: Nashville and Miami so it wouldn't be information overload!

Night One: We arrived in Nashville Thursday night around 7pm, so we went to dinner at The Stillery near Broadway. They had the cutest mason jar cocktails and we all really enjoyed our dinner (I got a mac & cheese dish with grilled chicken--yum!). Afterwards, we just bounced around from bar to bar on Broadway until we were ready to head back to our Airbnb.

Day One: On Friday we decided to be super tourist-y and try out Biscuit Love. It was pretty good, but the biscuit I got was HUGE (pictured below) and I definitely couldn't eat it all. It was a good experience, but not something I was dying to have again. After that, we went shopping at some of the boutiques in the area. We headed to Pinewood Social around 4pm and we loved it there. Basically it is a lounge type area where you can hang with friends, play games and drink & eat. Some other friends of ours met up with us here. At night we just went back to Broadway (I know, so basic!).

Day Two:
On Saturday we slept in pretty late, but when we eventually got up we went to get some late breakfast at The Pancake Pantry. I was really craving some simple eggs and bacon, so that's what I got, but my friends said their specialty pancakes were really yummy as well. It was so nice out in Nashville, so we wanted to hit up a rooftop bar. We ended up going to the rooftop at Rock Bottom brewing company. We only got a beer and some fried pickles, but we all really enjoyed our experience here. For dinner we met some friends at Bar Taco. The tacos were pretty good, but it's probably not a place I would go back to. At night, we again went to Broadway because that is what we really came to Nashville for--the Honky Tonk bars. Our favorites had to be FGL House, Dierks Bentley Whiskey Row, and Honky Tonk Central.

Day Three: Our flight to Miami wasn't until around 5pm, so we had some time to explore Nashville a little more. We decided to go to Acme for brunch because we had a lot of people recommend this to us. We were expecting a "sit-down" kind of brunch, but it ended up being more of a fast food sort of place. You basically order and take a number and your food comes out pretty quickly after that. It was really great food and there was live music starting at 11am. We also got frozen cocktails at Acme (don't judge, it was Spring Break) so we took them up to the rooftop after we ate and just enjoyed our time in the nice weather. Afterwards, we headed to 11th Avenue to find the "Wings mural." Honestly, it is a common tourist thing to do, but it's so worth it. The Wings are so gorgeous and fun to take pictures with! The area on 11th avenue is also really great for shopping and eating, so definitely check it out!

Sadly, that is where our Nashville trip came to an end. This was my second time visiting and I really think it is truly such an amazing city, I will definitely be back! Keep an eye out for a post about the second half of my Spring Break trip in Miami!
